Everything competitive players need to know about Warzone FOV settings.
Warzone's large maps mean threats come from far outside the immediate center of your view. A 120° FOV shows approximately 33% more of the scene than 90°. In Warzone specifically, this translates to spotting vehicle rotations earlier, detecting camping positions faster, and reacting to ring threats more efficiently.
Warzone's ADS (Aim Down Sights) FOV setting is critical. 'Affected' maintains your selected FOV scale when you ADS — this preserves muscle memory and keeps target sizes consistent with your hipfire experience. 'Independent' is a fixed ADS FOV regardless of your main FOV setting. Most competitive players use 'Affected'.
PC players can reach 120° while console players on standard hardware cap at 80°. This is one of the most significant cross-play balance concerns in Warzone — the FOV difference translates to genuine competitive advantage. Next-gen consoles (PS5/Xbox Series X) allow up to 103° FOV.
Warzone's vehicle gameplay can feel disorienting at very high FOV (115°+) when driving at speed. Many players who use 120° on foot find vehicle chases uncomfortable. The visual distortion at the screen edges becomes more pronounced at speed. If this bothers you, 105–110° is the sweet spot for combined arms play.
