PUBG: Battlegrounds allows horizontal FOV from 70° to 103° — the cap is notably lower than Warzone but still provides meaningful choice. The game's large maps (Erangel, Miramar, Deston) and long engagement distances make FOV a tactical decision: wider for spotting, narrower for long-range precision. This calculator converts your PUBG FOV across any aspect ratio or setup change.

| Playstyle / Setup | Recommended FOV | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Long-Range / Sniper | 70–80° | Horizontal | Distant targets appear larger — helps on Miramar and Deston |
| Balanced Play | 90° | Horizontal | Good all-round setting for mixed engagement distances |
| Awareness-Focused | 100–103° | Horizontal | Cap range — maximum spotting advantage in open terrain |
| Maximum (Recommended) | 103° | Horizontal | Most competitive players use the cap for optimal awareness |
Everything competitive players need to know about PUBG FOV settings.
PUBG's maps — particularly Miramar and Deston — feature extremely long sightlines where targets can appear at 400m+. At 103° FOV, a player at 400m is significantly smaller than at 80° FOV. If your primary strategy involves sniper rifles and long-range play, pulling FOV back to 85–90° can meaningfully improve target visibility.
PUBG's vehicle-heavy rotations make FOV valuable for spotting incoming threats. Wider FOV (100–103°) lets you see vehicles approaching from wider angles, giving you more time to react and take cover. In the final circles where vehicle rotations are common, this awareness advantage is significant.
PUBG offers both third-person (TPP) and first-person (FPP) modes. FOV settings apply differently — FPP lobbies are where FOV optimization matters most, as third-person camera provides inherent situational awareness. Competitive PUBG and most ranked play uses FPP, where 103° is the go-to.
PUBG's 103° cap is lower than Warzone (120°) and Apex (110°) but higher than CS2's effective 4:3 FOV (90°). Within the genre, PUBG sits in the middle. The game's slower pace relative to Apex means the FOV penalty from long-range engagements is more impactful than in faster-TTK games.
