Apex Legends FOV Calculator
Competitive FOV Settings Tool

Apex Legends gives players full horizontal FOV control from 70° to 110° on PC, and the fast-paced, mobility-heavy gameplay makes your FOV choice more impactful than in most shooters. Wider FOV reveals more enemy movement and ability animations. This calculator helps you find your optimal Apex FOV and convert it between different aspect ratios or monitor setups.

Mastering FOV in Apex Legends

Everything competitive players need to know about Apex FOV settings.

🏃 Why Apex Rewards Higher FOV

Apex Legends is built around movement — Octane's stim, Pathfinder's grapple, Valkyrie's jetpack. Wider FOV means you see more of these animations, which translates directly to faster reactions. Enemy abilities, shield breaks, and revives all become more visible at 100°+ vs 90°.

🎯 The Sprint FOV Toggle

Apex has a 'Sprint Field of View' toggle that adds a subtle FOV boost while running. Many competitive players turn this OFF — the constant FOV shift during movement can disrupt crosshair placement timing and create visual inconsistency when sliding into gunfights. Test both settings.

📐 ADS FOV Behavior

Unlike some games, Apex maintains your set FOV while aiming down sights on most attachments. The 1x Holo and 2x are particularly important — they don't change FOV significantly, which is why many pros prefer them for general gunfights over higher magnification scopes.

🏆 What Pro Apex Players Use

Looking at ALGS (Apex Legends Global Series) pro players, the most common FOV settings are 100–106°. Very few pros use below 95° or the maximum 110°. The 104° mark is particularly popular as it provides strong peripheral vision without making distant targets too small.

FAQ

Apex FOV Questions

Most competitive Apex players use 100–106° horizontal FOV. The 104° setting is particularly popular in professional play as it balances peripheral awareness with the ability to track targets at medium range. Start at 100° and adjust upward in 2° increments.
Apex Legends caps horizontal FOV at 110° on PC. Console players have more limited options. 110° is viable for very aggressive, close-range playstyles but can make targets at distance appear small, which hurts long-range accuracy.
Most competitive players turn Sprint FOV off. The constant FOV shift during movement creates visual inconsistency that can disrupt aim timing. Turn it off for a stable, consistent view and learn movement patterns at your set FOV.
Going from 90° to 110° in Apex typically reduces FPS by 5–15% depending on your hardware and settings. On mid-tier GPUs, this is noticeable. If you're frame-rate limited, try 100° instead of 110° for a better performance-awareness tradeoff.
ALGS professionals most commonly use 100–106° horizontal FOV on 16:9 monitors. The 104° setting is particularly prevalent. Very few pros use the minimum (70°) or maximum (110°) — the competitive range is firmly 95–110°.
